Green Mountain Watercolor Exhibition Receives International Recognition
The nationally acclaimed Green Mountain Watercolor Exhibition has achieved international exposure. The Art of Watercolour, a magazine published in France that enjoys a world-wide circulation, includes a description of the exhibition in its June-August edition. One of only a handful of shows in the United States listed in an article titled “What’s On,” the exhibition is listed with shows from France to China, Hong Kong to Belgium and beyond. The exhibition includes nearly 100 paintings from across North America, selected by a panel of award-winning, well-known watercolor artists from a large pool of entries submitted. The work represents the diverse styles and techniques of the watercolor medium. Richard Sneary, NWS, a nationally recognized watercolor artist and signature member of the National Watercolor Society, has selected 17 paintings of particular distinction for awards.
The exhibition is located at the Red Barn Galleries at Lareau Farm in Waitsfield, VT, and runs from June 21 through July 28. Gallery hours are Thursday through Sunday from noon to 9:00 pm. The show is made possible with a grant from the Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce and the support of Lareau Farm, Home of American Flatbread. For information about the exhibition, call the Valley Arts office at (802) 496-6682.
