In Our Own Backyard: Gordon Haywood

at the Stowe Free Library

Join the Friends of the Stowe Free Library on September 27, 2018 at 7pm in the Community Room of the Stowe Free Library for garden designer and author Gordon Haywood. Gordon will be discussing The Inevitable Garden. An Inevitable Garden is a garden with a soul, with clarity, varied emotions and an unself-conscious design – in other words, a feeling of inevitability.

This lecture gathers around photographs of fine European and American architecture, gardens and their makers. It also includes lessons learned from magnificent farms, vineyards and cattle ranches across Europe and America as far west as Hawaii.

Gordon has a successful garden design business, Haywood Gardens, in Putney, Vermont. He has written 11 books on garden design, was a contributor to Horticultural Magazine for 25 years, was a contributing editor at Fine Gardening Magazine for six years, and is a contributing editor at the newly revamped Organic Gardening Magazine. Gordon is a popular nationwide speaker on garden design.
