Inside and Outside the Frame, Exploring the Illusion of Light, Space, and Form in Landscape Painting
The T.W. Wood Art Gallery is pleased to announce The Magic of Seeing – Inside and Outside of the Frame, Exploring the Illusion of Light, Space, Form and in Landscape Painting an exhibit featuring acrylic and ink paintings by Michael Strauss. The exhibit will run from June 4th to June 28th, 2019.
Reception and Artist Talk: The opening reception will take place on June 6th, from 4 – 9pm with an artist talk as 6pm. All shows are free and open to the public.
The reception will coincide with Montpelier Alives’ ArtsFest and the New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA) Creative Communities Exchange (CCX) conference as well as the Center for Arts and Learning Open Studios. Michael Strauss is currently an emeritus professor at the University of Vermont (UVM). He taught college level chemistry at UVM from 1968 to 2003, and then went on to teach drawing there for over a decade.
Michael Strauss is a prolific author and has published many articles and books about the process of drawing and revision. Strauss considers drawing and painting forms of visual reasoning, powerful ways of learning about the world.
