CASTING CALL: Henry IV~Part 1 Shakespeare on Main Street is holding a Casting Call for its summer 2015 production of Henry IV-Part 1. This play, always an audience favorite, will be set in the Elizabethan era and will explore the themes of honor, parenting and kingship, and class diversity. One characteristic that differentiates Henry IV from other Shakespearean plays is the ease of which it transitions from scenes of nobility to scenes of commoners. These juxtapositions of social and linguistic provide the play with a diverse cast of characters and bring to audiences a rich assortment of human emotions, comedy, drama and history. Actors (18+ years of age) wanting to audition should prepare a one-minute monologue from Henry IV-Part 1. It does not need to be memorized – just well prepared. Auditions will be held in: Manchester: January 24, Saturday 1-3pm, Inn at Willow Pond, 74 Willow Pond Rd, Manchester Center VT 05255 Rutland: January 25, Sunday 1-3pm, Rhythm Hall, Building 5, 2nd Floor, Howe Center, 1 Scale Avenue, Rutland VT 05701 Brandon: January 31, Saturday 10am-12pm-Brandon Town Hall, 2417 Franklin Street (just off Route 7), Brandon VT 05733 Rehearsals begin June 21, Sunday 6pm to 9pm in Manchester. The second, third and fourth week of rehearsals will be in Rutland. Henry IV~Part 1 will open on Friday, July 24th. Performances will be in Manchester, Poultney and Brandon.
