Suspended Worlds Historic Theater Scenery in Northern New England

Chris Hadsel, author “Suspended Worlds” book signing, discussion about Curtains without Borders, to uncover and preserve historic stage scenery

Chris Hadsel author of Suspended Worlds will speak about the work, Curtains without Borders to uncover and preserve historic stage scenery from northern New England. These important theatre stage curtains are visually brilliant pieces of history painted between 1890 and 1940. These stage curtains can be as glorious as a Hudson Valley landscape, or as simple as a cluster of local advertisements surrounding a generic farm scene. Viewed together, the photographs of the painted theater curtains are a sight to behold. This book presents exquisite photographs of these enormous pieces of art that have been hidden in plain sight. Come hear about and see images from the project. All are welcome to this free event!
